Financial Education · Bangkok, Thailand
Reading your finances
with the same care
as a good book
Structured programmes for adults who want to understand their household finances clearly and calmly — without pressure or jargon.
Our Programmes
Three Reading-Room Programmes
Each programme is shaped around a single question that adults in their forties and beyond often find themselves asking. The pace is deliberate. The materials are tangible. The facilitator is a conversation partner, not a lecturer.
Six-Week Reading Programme
The Investing Reader's Shelf
A curated reading programme drawing on classic personal-finance texts — Bogle, Bernstein, and others — alongside Thai-context essays. Saturday morning discussions. Each participant keeps the bound reading volume.
- One book and one local case study per week
- Saturday morning sessions, Surawong
- Bound reading volume included
- Small group, conversational format
One-Day Workshop
The Household Annual Review
A structured workshop on reviewing household finances once a year with the same care you might bring to a kitchen inventory. Complete a draft Annual Review on the day using a Thai-household template.
- One-page Annual Review template
- Balance sheet, income, outgoings
- Reflective questions for the year
- Printed booklet for future years
Two-Session Programme
Documents to Keep, Documents to Discard
Two focused sessions on organising personal financial paperwork in adulthood — Thai-specific documents, provident fund statements, title considerations — so family members can find what is needed when it matters.
- Thai-specific document types covered
- Provident fund & social security records
- Digitisation guidance included
- Printed home-records inventory template
Why Nakara Finance
What sets this reading room apart
Texts as conversation partners
Classic finance writing is treated as material for discussion, not instruction. You read, reflect, and talk — with a facilitator who has read the same books many times over.
Thai context throughout
Every programme includes Thai-specific case studies, document types, and financial structures. The frameworks are adapted — not just translated — for Bangkok households.
Small groups, serious participants
Groups are kept deliberately small so that discussion is possible. Participants in their forties and beyond who take financial clarity seriously tend to find the format suits them well.
Tangible materials you keep
Every programme produces something you can use the following year — a bound reading volume, a printed Annual Review booklet, or a home-records inventory template.
No product sales
Nakara Finance does not sell financial products. The facilitator has no commission arrangement. You are here to learn, and that is the only relationship on offer.
A pace that suits adulthood
These programmes are not rushed. The schedule acknowledges that adults in their forties and fifties have careers, families, and other commitments — and plans the time accordingly.
A Place on the Next Programme
Is there a seat at the table for you?
Places are limited in each programme. If you have been thinking about bringing more clarity to your household finances, the sensible next step is simply to get in touch and ask.

Common Questions
Questions people often ask before enquiring
Do I need a financial background to attend?
No. The programmes are designed for adults who want to understand their own financial picture more clearly — not for people with economics degrees. Curiosity and a willingness to read are the only prerequisites.
Are these courses run in Thai or English?
Sessions are conducted in English, with Thai-language materials and document examples woven throughout. If you would like to discuss a bilingual arrangement, please mention that when you enquire.
How many people are in each group?
Groups are kept to eight participants or fewer. The format depends on discussion, and that requires a room small enough for everyone to contribute. Please enquire early if you would like a place in a forthcoming cohort.
Where do sessions take place?
All sessions are held at our reading room at 164 Surawong Road, Suriyawong, Bangkok 10500. The space is accessible by BTS Sala Daeng or MRT Sam Yan. Parking is available nearby.
What is the payment arrangement?
Payment is collected once your place is confirmed. We accept bank transfer to a Bangkok Bank account. A receipt is issued. Please enquire if you have questions about the payment timeline.
Will anyone try to sell me a financial product?
No. Nakara Finance does not sell investment products, insurance, or any financial instruments. The facilitator has no arrangement with brokers or product providers. You pay for the programme and that is all.
Can couples or spouses attend together?
Yes. A number of participants attend as couples, particularly for the Household Annual Review workshop, which benefits from both partners reviewing the same household picture together. Each participant pays the standard programme fee.
