Benefits · Why Nakara Finance
The reasons adults in Bangkok keep coming back
A clear account of what Nakara Finance offers, and what it does not. The distinction between the two turns out to be important.

Six things that distinguish the reading room
Nothing to sell
No financial products, no commission, no affiliated broker. The programme fee is the entire commercial relationship.
Groups capped at eight
Education at this depth requires a room where everyone can contribute. Eight is the upper limit, not a marketing claim.
Thai context throughout
Every programme includes Thai case studies and Thai document types. Global frameworks are introduced alongside local specifics.
You keep the materials
Each programme produces a physical item — a bound book, a printed template — that participants use in subsequent years.
Reading-centred method
Classic texts are treated as conversation partners. Discussion of what you have read is more lasting than a slideshow you attend.
Pace suited to adulthood
Schedules acknowledge that participants have careers, families, and other demands. Nothing is crammed. Nothing is rushed.
Expertise
The facilitator's background matters
Sirikanya Phirom spent twelve years in private banking before founding Nakara Finance. That background shapes how the programmes are designed: she knows which parts of classic finance writing transfer readily to the Thai household context, and which require adjustment. She also knows which questions adults in their forties and fifties tend to bring to the table, because she has heard them many times.
The facilitator does not hold a licence to provide regulated financial advice. This is disclosed plainly. What she offers is education — the kind that helps a participant ask better questions of their own situation, and of any professional they choose to consult.
Service & Support
Every enquiry is answered personally
There is no automated response system at Nakara Finance. When someone enquires about a programme, a person reads the message and responds. The response typically arrives within two working days. If a programme is not the right fit, that will be said plainly rather than obscured.
Participants who have questions between sessions are encouraged to write. The facilitator reads those messages and replies within the same timeframe. The relationship does not end when the session does.
Value & Pricing
Transparent pricing with nothing added
Programmes are priced at ฿5,600, ฿7,900, and ฿11,000 respectively. These figures include all materials: the bound reading volume, the printed Annual Review booklet, the home-records inventory template. There are no supplements, add-ons, or product recommendations at the end of a programme.
Participants in the Household Annual Review and Documents programmes often report that the materials they leave with are the most practically useful things they have paid for in the context of their financial life. That claim is something each participant should weigh for themselves, but it recurs often enough to be worth noting.
Outcomes
What participants leave with
The outcomes of financial education are not always measurable in the short term. What we observe is more modest and more reliable: participants finish the reading programme with a clearer sense of their own temperament as an investor and a vocabulary for discussing it. Participants who complete the Annual Review have a completed draft to take home and refine. Participants in the Documents programme leave with an organised inventory and a plan for maintaining it.
- A reading vocabulary for personal finance — not jargon, but the terms that matter
- A household Annual Review drafted and ready to use again next year
- A document inventory that family members can navigate independently
- A sense of which professional help, if any, is actually needed
Comparison
How Nakara Finance differs from typical alternatives
| Feature | Typical Alternatives | Nakara Finance |
|---|---|---|
| Product sales during or after | Common — many seminars exist to generate leads for financial products | Never. No products are offered at any stage. |
| Group size | Often 30–200 people; participation is passive | Maximum eight. Discussion is the format. |
| Thai document & context specificity | General content adapted loosely to Thailand | Provident fund, social security, title documents — covered in every relevant programme. |
| Materials participants keep | Slide printouts or digital links, rarely revisited | A bound book, a printed template, or an inventory — items designed for annual use. |
| Pace and scheduling | Full-day or intensive weekend formats | Saturday mornings or structured single days, designed around adult schedules. |
| Target audience specificity | General adult audience, often younger-skewed | Adults 40 and older, with content that reflects their financial stage. |
Distinctive Features
What you will not find elsewhere
The bound reading volume
Participants in the Investing Reader's Shelf receive a bound volume containing the curated reading list, abridged Thai case studies, and discussion questions used across the six weeks. This is not a certificate — it is a book designed to be returned to.
The Annual Review template
The one-page template used in the Household Annual Review workshop was developed specifically for the Thai household and refined over seven annual iterations. It addresses the balance sheet, income, recurring outgoings, and a reflective question set. It is not sold separately.
The home-records inventory
The printed inventory provided in the Documents programme covers Thai-specific document categories: provident fund statements, land title deeds, insurance certificates, social security records, and others. Participants complete their own inventory during the sessions.
The no-referral commitment
Nakara Finance does not refer participants to any financial adviser, broker, or product provider in exchange for any consideration. If a referral is mentioned in discussion, it is offered in the way a librarian might suggest another book — without commission.
