Terms & Conditions
Nakara Finance · Last updated: 12 May 2025 · These terms apply to all programmes offered from that date.
1. About these terms
These terms govern the relationship between Nakara Finance ("we", "us") and participants who register for any of our financial education programmes. Please read them before registering. By completing a registration, you agree to these terms. If you have any questions before registering, you are welcome to contact us at [email protected].
These terms are governed by Thai law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be referred to the courts of Bangkok.
2. Our programmes
We currently offer three financial education programmes:
- The Investing Reader's Shelf — a six-week Saturday-morning reading programme (฿5,600 per participant)
- The Household Annual Review — a one-day workshop on reviewing household finances (฿7,900 per participant)
- Documents to Keep, Documents to Discard — a two-session programme on personal financial paperwork (฿11,000 per participant)
Programme dates, locations, and cohort sizes are published on our website and confirmed by email at the time of registration. We keep cohorts small as a matter of programme design, and places are allocated in the order registrations are received.
3. What we offer and what we do not offer
Our programmes are educational in nature. We help participants develop knowledge, habits of thinking, and practical frameworks relating to their own finances. We do not offer investment advice, financial planning services, insurance advice, or any service regulated under the Securities and Exchange Act B.E. 2535, the Insurance Act, or related Thai legislation.
Nothing in our programmes constitutes a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any financial product or investment. Participants make their own financial decisions and are responsible for them.
4. Registration
Registration is completed by submitting an enquiry through our contact form and confirming your place by email. A place is held but not confirmed until payment is received in full. We will send payment details by email following your registration. If payment is not received within seven days, the place may be released.
Where a programme is full, we maintain a waiting list. We will contact you if a place becomes available.
5. Payment
Programme fees are payable in full by bank transfer in Thai Baht (THB) prior to the programme start date. Fees are stated inclusive of all materials listed in the programme description. There are no additional charges for materials included in the programme specification.
A receipt will be issued by email following cleared payment. Receipts carry the Nakara Finance business name and address and may be used for personal record-keeping.
6. Cancellation by the participant
We understand that circumstances change. Our cancellation terms are as follows:
- Cancellation with more than 14 days' notice before the programme start date: full refund, less a 300 THB administration charge
- Cancellation with 7 to 14 days' notice: 50% refund of the programme fee
- Cancellation with fewer than 7 days' notice: no refund, but a credit note valid for 12 months may be issued at our discretion
Cancellations must be made in writing to [email protected]. The date of your written notice is the date used to calculate the applicable term above.
If you cannot attend a session within a multi-session programme, please let us know in advance. We cannot offer partial refunds for missed sessions but will make reasonable efforts to share the materials covered.
7. Cancellation or changes by Nakara Finance
We may occasionally need to reschedule or cancel a programme due to circumstances beyond our control (including insufficient registrations, illness of the facilitator, or venue issues). Where this occurs:
- We will give as much notice as possible
- We will offer a transfer to an alternative date or a full refund
- We will not be liable for any travel, accommodation, or other costs incurred by participants
We reserve the right to make minor adjustments to programme content, reading materials, or timing without prior notice, provided the overall character and learning objectives of the programme are maintained.
8. Conduct and participation
Our programmes involve small-group discussion. We ask all participants to engage with consideration for others — listening carefully, speaking from their own experience, and respecting the confidentiality of what others share in the room. We reserve the right to ask a participant to leave a programme without refund if their conduct is seriously disruptive or disrespectful.
9. Materials and intellectual property
Printed materials provided as part of a programme (bound volumes, booklets, template sheets) are for the personal use of the participant. They may not be reproduced, distributed, or used commercially without our written permission.
Third-party books included in The Investing Reader's Shelf are subject to the copyright of their respective publishers. Participants receive copies of curated essays and original Nakara Finance materials; commercially published books are provided by reference and participants are expected to obtain their own copies unless otherwise stated at registration.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Thai law, Nakara Finance is not liable for any financial loss arising from decisions made by participants following any of our programmes. Our programmes are educational; participants are responsible for their own financial choices.
Our total liability in connection with any programme is limited to the fee paid for that programme. We are not liable for consequential, indirect, or incidental losses of any kind.
11. Personal data
We handle personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of our commitment to participants and is consistent with the Thai Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your registration is the version that governs your participation. We will publish updated terms on this page with a revised date.
