Our Approach

How the programmes are designed

Each programme begins with a question that adults in their forties and fifties are likely to be carrying. Not a theoretical question — a practical one. What should I be reading about personal finance? How does my household actually look, on paper? Where are all the important documents?

The format is then built around that question. Reading programmes use classic texts as discussion material. The Annual Review workshop provides a template and a facilitated afternoon to complete a first draft. The Documents programme provides a structured inventory and the context to fill it in.

In every case, the output is something tangible — a book, a completed template, an organised inventory. The facilitator's role is to provide context, ask questions that sharpen the thinking in the room, and ensure that the Thai-specific elements are addressed alongside the general framework.

No programme ends with a product recommendation. What participants do next is their own decision. The programme is complete in itself.

Programme 001 — Six Weeks

The Investing Reader's Shelf

A six-week reading programme drawing on a curated shelf of classic personal-finance books — Bogle, Bernstein, and others — alongside Thai-context essays. Each week introduces one book and one local case study; participants meet on Saturday mornings to discuss what they have read.

The facilitator is a literature-friendly financial educator who treats the texts as conversation partners rather than instruction manuals. Each participant keeps the bound reading volume at the end of the programme.

One book and one Thai case study per week
Saturday morning sessions at Surawong reading room
Maximum eight participants per cohort
Bound reading volume included and kept by participant
No investment products offered or recommended

Programme 002 — One Day

The Household Annual Review

A one-day workshop on the gentle practice of reviewing household finances once a year — neither obsessively nor anxiously, but with the same care one might apply to a kitchen inventory at year's end. The facilitator walks through a one-page Annual Review template developed for the Thai household: balance sheet, income, recurring outgoings, and a set of reflective questions about the year.

Participants complete a draft during the workshop. Includes a printed booklet for use in subsequent years.

Programme 003 — Two Sessions

Documents to Keep, Documents to Discard

A two-session programme on the often-overlooked question of personal financial paperwork in adulthood — which documents to retain, which to digitise, which to destroy, and how to organise them so that family members can find what is needed should the household need help.

The facilitator works through Thai-specific document types (provident fund statements, social security records, property title considerations) and provides a printed home-records inventory template.

Thai-specific document categories covered in full
Provident fund, social security, property title, insurance records
Guidance on digitisation, destruction, and secure storage
Printed home-records inventory template included
Designed so family members can navigate the inventory independently

Two-session structure

1Session one: document categories, retention rules, Thai-specific types
2Between sessions: participants review and gather their own documents
3Session two: completing the inventory, digitisation and storage guidance
4Leave with a completed first-draft inventory and a plan to maintain it
